Meringue Snowman. This is a Christmas cake from a patisserie called Maison Bertaux in London. Maison Bertaux is the oldest patisserie in London, established in 1871 by a French refugee Mr. Bertaux. 

メレンゲの雪だるま。ロンドンにあるメゾン・バトーというケーキ屋さんのクリスマスケーキです。メゾン・バトーは1871年にフランス人の亡命者、バトー氏によって設立されたロンドンで一番古いフレンチパティスリーです。

Maison Bertaux’s Marzipan Fig for Christmas. It’s a fig-shaped chocolate cake wrapped with marzipan. Their cakes are old fashioned and nostalgic.

メゾン・バトーのクリスマスのマジパンイチジク。チョコレートケーキをマジパンで包んで、イチジクの形にしたケーキ。メゾン・バトーのケーキは昔風でどこか懐かしい感じがします。

This is one of my favourite Christmas ornaments ‘Mr. Mushroom’. I bought him at a cute little toy shop in Amsterdam. His funny face makes me smile whenever I look at him!

家ではクリスマスになると本物のもみの木のクリスマスツリーを飾ります。これは私のお気に入りの飾りのひとつ「ミスター・マッシュルーム」。アムステルダムの小さなかわいいおもちゃ屋で買いました。この愉快な顔を見る度につい微笑んでしまいます。

This is a Bûche de Noël I made this Christmas. Chestnut cream and marron glacé pieces are rolled with chocolate sponge, and covered with chocolate butter cream.

今年のクリスマスに作ったブッシュ・ド・ノエル。マロンクリームとマロングラッセの粒入りのチョコレートロールケーキを、チョコレートバタークリームでコーティングしてあります。

French newspaper ‘Le coopérateur de France’ with my favourite French illustrator Raymond Peynet’s illustration on the front cover. It is a vintage paper published on Christmas in 1956. My husband gave it to me for my birthday.
